This was my first experience with an interior designer and I can't believe I didn't do it sooner. Cate was extremely professional, personable and very easy going. She came to home with ideas based on the pictures I had sent her. Cate really hit the mark on the style! I loved her ideas and choices and can't wait to start implementing them! I would highly recommend Cate and plan to work with her more in the future.

From the moment she came into our home, Catherine was professional & friendly. She didn't just "hear" us, she LISTENED to us. She cared about our thoughts, our needs, our story. She was FULL of ideas!! After spending time in our home & getting a feel for who we are as a couple, she came up with a visual and dimensional plan for our basement with many examples for choices to consider. She has been encouraging & gentle in regard to steering us in the right direction to achieve our desired outcome, while still leaving our choices up to us. She has stayed in close contact with us throughout this process as we've selected surfaces, colors, materials, where to bring flooring lines for best marrying of 2 rooms, etc. I've called or texted multiple times to ask her advice regarding bathroom vanity considerations...& when the right one came along, she immediately affirmed it was "the one" needed to make the desired impact we were going for. She sent multiple examples for shower tile effect, and she steered us toward the top 3 options we had found that would best work with the vanity, flooring and overall basement flow, to make a true statement without being "overdone". For the basement bar area that she designed, and which will be the highlight of the basement, she made some impact suggestions which included a wine cooler, shiplap ideas, a live edge bar top, and open shelving between cabinets, & ways to incorporate important family mementos into the design. She has worked so well with our builder, I can see why he recommended her!! Catherine brings class, comfort & friendliness from the minute she walks through your door. There is no question that she not only cares about the outcome of her design, but that she also cares about her clientsaas people! I've already recommended her to 3 of my friends who are making some renovations! We are so happy we chose to work with Style House KC!!!

Cate was great. I thought I needed new carpet and fresh paint. Cate didn't think so. She listened to me and brought in a professional organizer. This organizer was the best one I ever worked with! ( I have worked with three in different states.) Cate gave me the courage to go for it! I am very happy with the feeling in my dining room and the more organized function of our home. The carpet isn’t an issue now.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first thing that I like to do is to have an informal, relaxed meet and greet my client's. Where I can learn their likes, dislikes and discover their personalities, taste and interest. I believe all of these things play a significant part in creating the perfect space that they'll truly love to call home.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm IAP Certified.
