FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I spend time with my clients either on the phone or in person to listen to their plans and make sure I understand their entertainment needs. I cover all the basics, such as venue and audience size but I also explore any special themes they may be hoping to promote at the event and any guests they want to make a point of honoring. These listening sessions help me propose a performance format which my experience has shown will most please their guests and, most importantly, leave the event planner looking like a hero! I follow-up two weeks prior to the event (unless we are operating on a shorter timeframe) and then again a few days out to make sure our plan is still on track or that I am aware of any changes. I arrive at the venue on the date of the event far enough in advance to check-in with the client, set-up and test any staging. (For smaller events, the set-up might be relatively simple and require less prep time.) I also try to make a point of meeting with a few important members of the audience to whom the client has directed me in hopes of recruiting them to help me during the performance. Afterwards, I follow-up with the client to ensure they were satisfied and to learn of anything we could do differently next time to make them even more of a success.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been studying magic for well over three decades and have been performing for close to two. I am a graduate of the prestigious McBride School of Magic and Mystery, a week-long training course in Las Vegas which brings together magicians from around the world to learn from some of the most noted authorities in magic, including Jeff McBride, Eugene Burger and Larry Haas.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with large and mid-size corporations, non-profit associations and individuals. My performances have included stage shows for nearly 1,000 associates at the headquarters of a large local corporation, numerous luncheon programs for non-profit groups' annual or regional meetings, church organizations and individual family gatherings.
