Tom is a very nice and knowledgeable about piano tuning. He has done it for 50 years. The church baby grand was badly out of tune. Tom worked for over 2 hours and got it to a 432 range and is coming back on November 1st to complete the job. He also gave advice on proper care of the piano. I highly recommend Tom White for any of your piano needs.

Tom was easy to work with. I had an open schedule. He let me know if an immediate opening due to another customer rescheduling which I appreciated. He went right to work, explained to me what he could do as in what the piano needed. He put an intermediate tune on it as it hadn't been tuned for years. He said if he tuned it to convert pitch the tune wouldn't hold. So I accepted that and have him scheduled to come back in 6 months. All in all it was a very satisfying situation, my piano sounds great, and it will be even better when he returns. I will recommend Tom's Tuning to anyone and everyone I can.

I was so pleased and impressed with Mr. White. My piano is 60 years old and had not been tuned in MANY years! Not only was it out of tune, it had several repairs that needed to be done. He worked on it for 4 hours straight, and I do not remember it ever sounding as beautifully as it does now! He was kind, friendly and very reasonably priced for all he did. He has a customer for life!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
A basic tuning is $125.00.Estimates are at no charge.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I contact the customer or have them call me to get as much information as I can to prepare for a job. If it calls for an estimate I like pictures of the item. This way I can give them a more accurate estimate. If it is a tuning job, I will set a time and get an address.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I worked as a piano technician assistant for 2 years before stating my own business. I then opened a music retail business for 14 years. I tuned and rebuilt pianos at concerts, colleges, churches, and homes. I have been doing this for about 45 years now.
