FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My standard charge for a Grand Piano tuning in the Cincinnati area is $240 plus sales tax in Ohio. Depending on the condition of the piano it may need additional work but I can do what I can for the $240 standard tuning charge and quote for additional work needed to be done at another time. I NOW WORK ON GRAND PIANOS ONLY. I no longer take on a lot of jobs with a lot of needed repairs involved especially if the piano has a broken strings, hammer shanks or other parts. If the piano has not been tuned for many years it will most likely require additional tunings within the next year to stabilize the piano. If you are a distance outside of the Greater Cincinnati area proper I may have to charge an additional fee for my travel time and expenses, and I no longer travel very far outside of the I-275 circle.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I endeavor to always treat my new customers with the utmost courtesy just as if they have been customers for many years.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Completed Federal and State of Ohio certified Piano Technology Apprenticeship Program while working at Fitzsimmons Piano Company, a Steinway & Sons and Wurlitzer Piano Dealership, in Dayton, Ohio in 1974. I worked for the Baldwin Piano Company from 1977 until 1988 doing piano tunings for the Cincinnati Retail Division, in customers homes, churches, schools, etc., which I have continued to do out of my own small business from 1988 until the present. I also want to add that I have an Ohio Vendor's License and a Campbell Co., Kentucky Occupational Tax and Business License. I would have put this under the license section but there is not the option to put those in that section.
