Jodi is a knowledgeable, experienced and caring dog trainer. She is energetic and passionate about teaching positive reinforcement techniques. Very responsive and easy to work with. We really like her hands-on approach and patience in teaching us how to work with our bulldog puppy. Has provided us with a wide variety of information from training to purchasing of products and services. Have tried dog training with our other dogs in the past but not with success that we have experienced with Jodi. Have already recommended Jodi to our friends. Highly recommend JodiJan 25, 2018Verified
She was a very positive trainer and my dog responded very well!Oct 29, 2017Verified
Jodi is an awesome and very knowledgeable trainer. She trained our dog Ammo to not attack the door and be aggressive when someone was outside or approaching. He learned basic commands and leash walking as well. We love Jodi and so does Ammo!Aug 18, 2017Verified
Very good, positive training techniques for our aggressive Australian Shepard. Noticed improved behavior quickly, which means I might not have to use that umbrella insurance policy I have..ha. And Jodi comes to my house, so training is with us, and in a normal setting environment for the dog.Apr 22, 2017Verified
I asked Jodi to help me with my Pitbull, she enthusiastically agreed and we went right to work. She has an obvious passion for her work and for the dogs she helps... it didn't take long for my skeptical buddy to make friends with her and fall right in line with his training. I look forward to every session, not only for the help my furry friend receives, but for the training I receive as well... it's about more than teaching a dog manners, it's also about learning how to be the leader my Pit deserves. Take my advice, pass the others up... her talent and training approach are better than anything you'll find! Thanks Jodi, from Asher and I!Oct 20, 2016Verified
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? You are not just paying an hourly rate with me. You are paying for my years of experience, knowledge and certifications in my field. You can be assured that you have someone that actually knows what they are doing with behavior. Regular dog consultations run 40 plus mileage fee. Aggressive dog Consultations run 60 as they are a bit more in depth and require me to work within the dogs comfort zone. I have package deals on my website that give a bit of a discount to those wanting to save a little money.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I like to speak to the client first to see what I can help with. Clients are sent to my website to do an intake form that will help me with working with their dog as well as scheduling an appointment time that is convenient for them. We meet I evaluate the dog and hear the owners concerns as well as ask questions that the intake form may have led to and then a I come up with a training plan tailored to each dog and owner to help the owner set the dog up to succeed. Management behaviors are given as well as information to Start them on the path to a better behaved dog.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I am a CPDT-KA, which means not only am I a Certified Professional Dog Trainer, but I have been tested on that knowledge. I do regular Webinars, and Continuing Education Units through the many professional organizations I am part of. The Association of Professional Dog Trainers or APDT. As well as The Pet Professional Guild and International Association of Behavior Consultants IAABC.org I have 18 years of hands on experience and am constantly working to keep up with industry standards. I work with and am mentored by several other force free trainers, Veterinary behaviorists, and Applied animal behaviorists. If I do not know the answer to a problem I have this pool of professionals to seek help from. I have trained well over 900 private lesson dogs and many, many group classes. I am able to teach 42 different tasks for service dogs at last count. I am an AKC CGC evaluator, able to give STAR puppy classes.
