Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I teach Guitar, mandolin and ukulele to students from a wide variety of backgrounds, from complete beginners with no prior experience to advanced players honing their skills or preparing for College or critical auditions. At all levels, my goal is to help the student get the most enjoyment out of their learning and help them reach their goals. I help to develop the complete musician, which can include -learning chords and scales -Repertoire(learning songs, tunes, pieces) -Technique -Playing with others and advanced accompaniment -Ear Training and Transcription -Improvisation -Music Theory-Basic and Advanced -Composition I love connecting with students and seeing(and hearing!) them achieving their goals. Music is such a personal study and each person connects in their own way. My job is to find the path for each student and help to guide them through it

I've been taking lessons from Tim for almost a year. He has many qualities which make him an outstanding teacher: patience, a solid and diverse background for the material he teaches, and an encouraging, student-oriented enthusiasm which makes me want to do the work and to do it well. It's clear that he knows his stuff and that he wants to share it with others. He is not only professional in his demeanor; he also is flexible and tailors his pedagogy to meet the requirements of the student. His fees are reasonable and speaking for myself, I believe that I get more than my money's worth. I would highly recommend him as a guitar teacher not only for older folks like myself, but also for youngsters who may just be starting to learn how to play. Respectfully; David H. Johnson

Tim is a fabulous musician, an amazing guitarist, and a wonderful human being. He possesses the knowledge, the technique, the experience, and then desire to get the job done not only as an instructor but as a solo artist and side-man (in the recording studio or live stage). Tim's zest, ability, and commitment always guarantee a positive experience. He gets my highest recommendation!

I know Tim as one of the finest guitar musicians I have ever worked with. His depth of knowledge of music theory, ability to apply it and love of the instrument makes him a first class musician. I first met Tim, and had the pleasure to work with him, in a band in 2005. As the leader he was superb not only in his playing ability but also his ability and insight setting up the emotional flow of the song sets.

I have been fortunate enough to play in a band next to and take lessons from Tim. I have met a lot of guitar players, but Tim moves well past that simple description and should only be described as a musician. He has a wonderful ear, omnivorous listening habits and chops that border on scary. In spite of all of that he was able to work with me at my level and teach me many new techniques and tools for improving my playing ability. I would highly recommend Tim to anyone looking to improve their skills or is looking for an all-around good guy to play their event.

FAQs

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

It is so important to find someone who can help you to realize your goals. The teacher you hire should love what they do and clearly demonstrate that they can help you learn to play what you want. They should help you find the joy in playing and the challenge in getting better. Most instructors have very similar rate structures, so price is not a big differentiator. What sets me apart is the level of planning I put into each student as well as the experience to help them grow. You should know that I will never have a substitute instructor for your lesson. I also allow some flexibility in missing lessons(where other may not)
