Basic seasonal services were provided on two lawn mowers with the belts being changed on one. That same mower also had a tire fixed. The other mower had more extensive work performed. Starter was installed along with a new battery. Spark plug was changed along with oil and complete tune-up with a thorough cleaning of debris around the engine housing and body.
All and all, I'm satisfied with the price I paid for the work that was done. If there was anything I was less than satisfied with, I would have to say that to be the fact that I was not called before the work was completed. However, I did speak to the owner Mike, about this very problem and his explanation for why he didn't call was palatable to me and made sense.
It seemed as though no sooner they would get one problem figured out and solved than would another problem reveal itself and had they stopped to call me, it might have seen like a never ending cycle of finding one problem after another. As much as I would have thought that they still should have called, I give them the benefit of doubt because of the particular mower they were working on and the previous problems I had with it.
All and all, I'm quite satisfied with the work and the price I paid for the service. I don't feel that I've been taken advantage of like I have in the past y another business and I would and will definitely be coming back to Mike for any and all of my small engine repair needs.
At the end of the day, what's most important to me is to feel confident and comfortable that I'm dealing with an honest business person who provides and excellent service that I can count on. Mikes small engine repair is every bit of that and then some.

HONESTY is not the policy at "EVANS" Brought a Kubota mower in for a simple pulley replacement only to bring it home with a steady leak. Brought it back and was told I needed a gasket replaced that was dry rotted. Paid 280.00 and got home only to have an even worse leak...This time I was told I needed a steel hydraulic hose. Out of my own stupidity I paid for this service as well. Once I arrived to pick up mower I was asked "How much money do you have?" Meaning that my machine was in serious trouble. Mechanic in hoverround chair informed me that they were out mowing with unit for 20 minutes and it wont bleed out. He try to convince me to take it home and "BE EASY" with it and it will most likely bleed out. However I could not load it on my trailer. Upon inspection I found there was no fluid in transmission reservoir. once I addressed this issue I was told Mr.Evans was on vacation and that he had to correct the problem. Once he returned from paradise I was informed that my right transmission had to be replaced and the cost was 2300.00. "It was an act of nature he told me. when I told him there was no fluid in tank and transmission was burnt up Mr.Evans looked at me and said he did not believe that. I had been a faithful customer for many years and have sent countless customers to him but, never again. Now it's small claims court we go! I have heard from other Lawn Services that they would never take their equipment to "Evans" now I know why. Now of course Mike Evans has his own story but, if anyone is looking for lawn service repair PLEASE do yourself a favor and take it to a reputable service center, such as Louisville Tractor or Bluegrass lawn @ Garden. A simple pulley replacement cost me near 500.00.and in return I have a 10.000 mower sitting in the barn collecting dust.

I took a 300ex four wheeler with a no spark issue to get repaired. After having for two months and supposedly having 8 hours of diagnostic time and 150 dollars in parts Mr Evans couldn't find the issue. He wanted to replace the wiring harness and still couldn't promise the issue would be fixed. As I was picking up the mechanic told me they replaced a cdi box and it worked for 30 seconds then stopped again, meaning it had a wire grounded, which no one found in the 8 hours of diagnostic time. Very unhappy with the service and time it took. Would not recommend taking anything that needs more then an oil change.
