Hello. I am Erik, the founder of Erik Christian Photography. I am a wedding and portrait photographer. I love capturing those candid moments at weddings and use a very distinct artistic/photojournalistic style. I travel near and far for weddings big and small throughout Kentucky, southern Illinois, Tennessee, western Missouri and northeast Arkansas, always bringing my unique style to your wedding or portrait session.
I recently relocated from upstate New York to Western Kentucky after photographing all around the Northeastern US for over 20 years.

Erik Christian is an amazing photographer. He was very quick at responding to messages, and he was very kind. He did some shots for our wedding, he was great! My husband and I are not super photogenic, but he made us look like naturals. Even when I was under stress, he handled it very well. He did an amazing job! 10/10 would recommend again! We definitely will be hiring him again for our any of next photography events.

If you are looking for killer photos, affordable price, and easy of mind...you've got your guy! Erik is fabulous. He took both our engagement and wedding photos...which were wwwaaaaayyyyy cooler than expected. My husband and I are super awkward in front of the camera, but somehow Erik managed to capture US. Not to mention, he is extremely talented at finding the little moments and also making huge landscapes dramatic. He is easy to work with before, during, and after for each session. PLUS... when we were sent our wedding photos, he mailed it in this gorgeous black case in a crystal hard-drive, which is PERFECT for storage of our fabulous wedding day moments! Seriously...if you need a photographer for anything.... stop looking and hit this guy up!!!!

We hired Erik as our wedding photographer after doing plenty of research, and checking out his work on his website. We had a very small outdoor wedding, but we were ready to spare no expenses for photography. Not only was Erik very responsive online, but he was also prompt, and prepared the morning of our wedding. He was also extremely flexible with the time we had selected to have him shoot photos, affording us the option of compensating for extra time the day of should we feel the need. From the very beginning I knew the most important part of my wedding would be the photos, and we were not disappointed. Erik captured priceless memories of our closest loved ones, stunning candid shots of our guests, beautiful portraits of my husband and I (and our dog!), as well as those tiny little details (macro shots of favors, flowers etc.). We felt in complete control of what our general photo package outcome would represent, group photos, photos with friends, photos of family, and photos of us with breathtaking backgrounds of the park we love that were predetermined by us. Erik was happy to follow us a few steps around the park to capture the precise shots I was dreaming of. Additionally, Erik effortlessly provided us with guidance, or suggestions for great shots. Lastly, Erik himself was an enthusiastic guy who seemed happy to join us in the park that morning, and extremely easy to work with; we could not be happier with the outcome! 10/10 we will book again!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer different customized packages for my clients. I am always happy to create a custom package for a range of budget needs.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Normally we start with an email or text message. I normally then encourage any potential clients to setup a phone call or preferably an in person meeting. I think it’s very important to meet in person to make sure any potential clients like my personality and style.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have worked as an editorial and magazine photographer for the past 15 years. I learned quickly how to work with what the situation give me. Newspaper and magazine photographer are a mix of creative lighting and working with each individual situation.
