Introduction: Hi, I am Michael, owner of Michael Colemire Designs and our sister company, Northern Kentucky Upholstery. My team and I can provide a wide array of services from design to creation. Our goal is to understand your vision and produce the perfect piece or space for you, your family, or your business. We are highly skilled in all aspects of producing custom furnishings - woodwork & fine carpentry, metalwork (steel, iron, stainless or aluminum), sculpted concrete, glass etching, carving, sculpting. And, last but not least, we have a full upholstery and drapery shop.
We also have a huge supply of reclaimed materials from barn siding to warehouse beams to hand hewn logs, as well as lumber and live edge slabs from native hardwoods. Are you worried of the chance that insects could be tunneled deep within the reclaimed wood, waiting to come out once the piece enters your home? NOT with our products! We will only build with wood that has undergone an extensive heat sterilization to ensure that any insects or larvae that could have made their way into the wood are eradicated.
Northern Kentucky Upholstery is tried and true. We have been reupholstering, repairing, and refinishing fine furniture and antiques for years. We have many happy clients here in the Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati areas, reaching into Indiana and West Virginia, and as far away as Florida, Louisiana, and Texas. Our reputation speaks for itself. We are experts in restorations and Old World Upholstery as well as modern materials and techniques. We take a great deal of pride in our work and it shows in each and every piece. See for yourself by reading the testimonials and viewing the images of past work. Be sure to pay close attention to the pattern match of the fabrics, as we definitely do!
Are you looking for a green alternative for your upholstery? Our green upholstery options include organic and fair-trade fabrics and materials. Green or Eco-friendly upholstery is upholstery done the old-fashioned way, with hand-tied springs, horsehair padding and organic cotton batting, instead of petroleum-based foam. These techniques leave you with furniture that will be more comfortable, wear better and longer and is healthier for your family AND the environment.
From re-imagining or re-upholstering your favorite heirloom, to creating a custom piece of furniture from “tree to table,” or designing the perfect vibe for your commercial space, I can bring your vision into reality. I would be honored and privileged to be your creative partner.
