Missy Jo is a well-respected trainer and has been named Trainer of the Year by the KQHA for a total of six years (2003, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008, and 2011). Over the years, Missy Jo has had many successive students win major titles, with the current count totaling over 150 championships or top ten awards at the AQHA World Championships, AQHA Congress, IBHA World Championships and NSBA year-end awards. All of these horses were either bred, raised or trained in Camp Springs.
As an exhibitor, Missy Jo has twice been on the AQHA top 25 point earners in category 4, as reported by the AQHA Team Wrangler competition.
An active member of several equine associations, Missy Jo serves as the president of the Mid-East Quarter Horse Association, and she is a Kentucky Equine Education Project team leader.
As a breeder, Missy Jo owns Sonnys Hot Jazz, a multiple world-champion stallion, and a sire of many congress and world champions. The program at Saddle Lake includes a full breeding program, including embryo transfers.
As a coach, Missy Jo has been the coach for the University of Cincinnatis equestrian team since 2007, winning regionals in 2008 for the first time in the teams history. Since then, the team or the UCET team members have been receiving regional, semi, zone and national awards. Recently, University of Cincinnati awarded Missy Jo Hollingsworth with 2012 University of Cincinnatis Coach of the Year.
"I am especially touched by the UC award, as it must originally be nominated by the team members themselves."
