FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $40.00 an hour for online lessons (I have Zoom, a scanner, Skype, a Jamboard, and am looking into getting an interactive classroom called Splashtop). I also charge $40 for in-person lessons, but would prefer on-line currently. Pay any way you like. There is a 24-hour cancellation policy. I keep a tidy schedule and am prompt and reliable.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically we talk on the phone and schedule a session. You may pay as you go, so there is no pressure. After the first session, we then schedule ahead. Again, you pay as you go or up front (your choice), there is no contract, and you're free to cancel or postpone tutoring services at any time.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a teaching credential (California, Sonoma State University, 1998), a B.A. in Biology from Kenyon College (1985), and have years of training to work effectively with children and adults with special needs. I have been tutoring for over 30 years now. I am working on writing a guide for ACT test preparation. I tutor for the ACT and SAT tests, math, and literature/writing/grammar primarily. I tutor many other subjects (just ask!) and for other tests such as the TEAS and the ASVAB.
