Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: My specialty is photographing dogs and cats inside or outside of their home. I'll come to your house and set up my studio, including lights and backdrop, right there where your pet feels the most relaxed and comfortable. I can also travel to another location like a park or other place that is your or your pet's favorite place to be. Although my specialty is candid portraits of pets and their people, I'm also available for other types of human photography, too. For detailed information on rates or need additional information, please contact me via phone or email. If you are having an animal-related event, ask me how I can raise some extra money for your cause. FAQ: Q: Where are you located? A: I'm located in Shepherdsville, KY and will travel to meet you within a 30-mile radius (according to Mapquest directions). If travel outside of this range is needed, an additional travel fee may be required. Q: What days of the week do you schedule appointments? A: I'm available most weekday evenings/nights and anytime during most weekends. I can possibly schedule a weekday if the session is scheduled enough in advance. Q: When is the best time to have photos of my pet taken? A: Most any time, but most certainly when your dog is new to your household, maybe every year at holiday time and when your dog gets older, but before they are sick. Most importantly, don't wait until it is too late. I hear too many stories from people who wished they had not waited until their dog was too sick for photographs. The years slip by and our pups are old before we know it. Don't wait; contact me today! Session and Session Fees: Q: How much are session fees and what do they cover? A: My session package includes the initial consultation and the photo session itself. My sitting fee at your location of choice is $40, which includes up to an hour and a half of time. If your location requires an entry fee I request that you pay that fee for me to enter. If you would like more information on fees and pricing, please contact me. Q: Why do you require a contract? A: I have a contract for both of us to sign that explains the terms of your photo shoot and protects my rights to the photos that result from the shoot. This contract will be signed before the shoot, and we will discuss the details before you sign. Q: What can I expect during my photo session? A: If this is your first time commissioning a portrait with a professional photographer who creates custom portraits, you are in for a treat! I will spend time getting to know you and your pup. I want to learn about your dog's personality and create photographic art that shows their personality. I invest a lot of time to create just the right collection of photos that tells your dog's story. I promise, you will laugh a lot and have a lot of fun! Q: Where can a session be done? A: Sessions can be done most anywhere. They can be done in your home, in your backyard, in a park, or other location of your choosing. Please consider how well your dog will handle distractions during the session if you are considering a location other than your home or back yard. Q: How do I prepare for a session? A: Make sure your dog is well groomed and you have treats and his/her favorite toy(s). It is a good idea if your pup is full of energy to maybe take your dog for a walk before the session. Q: Is there a limit to how many dogs you can photograph at one time? A: Up to two dogs are included in the session fee. There is a charge of $20 for each additional animal. Q: Does my dog have to be well trained? A: No, but it is most helpful if your dog knows basic commands like "sit" and "down" and will come when called. The better your dog knows basic commands the more time we can spend being creative. If your dog is shy, does not take commands well or has a short attention span, I do have the patience and experience that it takes to get some great photos. I have worked with and photographed animals in a shelter environment for quite some time and have plenty of "tricks up my sleeve" to gain their trust. Q: What if my dog doesn't behave during the session? A: I'm very patient and can usually get good images even if your pup doesn't want to cooperate. Unfortunately, I'm not a miracle worker but if necessary, the session time can be lengthened depending on the time available or we can reschedule for another day. Q: Where do I go to purchase my prints? A: You can go to my website and look for your photo session gallery. You can select the photos you wish to purchase from there. You will find my pricing to be very affordable and the quality of the prints and other products to be very high quality. Q: What if I am not happy with any of the pictures you take? A: I will most likely take hundreds of pictures of your pet and end up with 30 or 40 awesome images to show you in the online gallery. I usually have at least one alternate version of your original shot, such as a black and white or sepia version (or both), therefore your will have many photos to choose from. Most likely you'll love the images and will have a difficult time choosing which ones you want to purchase as prints. However, if you don't find any photos that you like, I will meet with you and go over your gallery images to talk about what you would like to see in the images. Then, we'll schedule another photo session at no charge to take some more photos. Q: Do you have a studio? A: I do not photograph pets in a studio. I think that pets feel more comfortable and therefore look better when they are in their natural surroundings. If you are interested in a more formal, studio style portrait I can bring the "studio" to you. With a white or black background and a few studio lights we can set up a formal portrait session in your own home. I do not use flash while photographing you pet, I use a constant light source. I have noticed that using flash can spook even the most well trained pet. I want your pet to be as comfortable as possible around me, so I choose not to use flash. Q: Are you on Facebook? A: Yes! Wayne is amazing! He photographed Henrietta (our Frenchie) at Paw Zone's Pet Fair in September and was so wonderful and patient with her. Henri is a true French Bulldog - full of personality, including sassy refusals to respond to prompting. Wayne was encouraging and willing to wait for just the right shot - and the photos turned out great! AND he told her how beautiful she is, which made him a friend for life!
