FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am currently scheduled to take a test in order to get certified as a court interpreter and also, I am studying to obtain my notary license in the state of Louisiana.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started at the tender age of 6 years old when I barely knew English myself, translating for my parents who were trying to start a new life and raise children in this wonderful country. Translating began to feel like 2nd nature to me and I realized that I loved the feeling of helping people.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I commonly translate for attorneys who need to communicate to their Spanish speaking clients. That can be either orally or by translating documents or correspondence. I have also in the past worked for a bilingual newspaper, translating articles from English to Spanish and vice versa.
