Ryan was recommended to us by the officiant for our wedding, and he literally blew us away. From our initial meeting, until the day of, and the delivery of our photos, we could not have asked for a better experience.We were planning a simple wedding in NOLA while living in Indiana. Ryan helped scope out the venue ahead of time and even recommended places for dinner and drinks afterward. Our time was very limited, but we feel like he helped us experience so much while we were there, and the photos he provided are absolutely incredible.We had time to kill in between the ceremony and our dinner reservation, and Ryan showed us the way to a crawfish boil at a craft brewery and continued to capture little moments with our family along the way. We really appreciated the moments he captured with our kids, and he was able to get the groom (who is typically camera shy) to open up and feel more comfortable in front of the camera.We truly feel like Ryan helped ease our nerves throughout the planning of our destination wedding and would highly recommended working with him for any event. You wont be disappointed!

From the moment we began planning our wedding in New Orleans, we knew finding the right photographer was crucial. Ryan and team were an absolute pleasure to work with. They were responsive to our vision, attentive to our needs, and incredibly professional, from our initial consultation to the final delivery of our photos.The quality of Ryan's work is simply outstanding. From the candid shots that captured raw emotions and funny moments to the meticulously arranged portraits, every photo captured our celebration perfectly. One of our requests was to take pictures in front of the colorful houses within the Marigny neighborhood. Not only did his team agree to that, he took the time to scout the area to determine which houses would work best logistically and aesthetically prior to the wedding day. They were able to capture the vibrant backdrop of New Orleans while also managing to complement our style and personality.We would certainly recommend Shades of Gray Photography to anyone looking for a wedding photographer in New Orleans!Thank you, Ryan, for capturing our special day so beautifully. Ryan was the most professional and helpful person during our entire wedding process. He also took our engement photos. All of the photos turned out so immaculate it's hard to even put into words.What I was most impressed with though, is how in depth and thorough he was during the planning process. He really doesn't want to miss anything. It's the attention to detail that makes him such a great photographer.I Can't reccomond him more!

Ryan truly went above and beyond to create beautiful, highly stylized photos of my husband and I on our wedding day! He really listened to our vision when we explained that we wanted to capture the "Old Hollywood Glam" photo style. It was important to us that our photos were unique and artistic, and Ryan created just that! One thing I really appreciated about Ryan was his professionalism and communication. Right from the beginning, he really listened to what we were saying and asked excellent follow-up questions. He consistently communicated with us throughout the process, checking in and being proactive about ensuring that he was getting all of the information he needed from us. If I ever had a question, Ryan answered it promptly. He was also very transparent about his pricing and about the amount and format that we would receive our photos when the editing was complete. He never tried to up-charge or add on any hidden fees. In the wedding industry, this level of communication and transparency can be rare, and for this reason I cannot recommend Ryan enough! PLUS the photos that he created are stunning and exactly what we wanted. Another thing I appreciated about Ryan was that he went out of his way to ensure that the photos were successful. He visited our venue in advance to scope out locations, even though we did not ask him to do that. He also had a clear photography timeline and plan of action, so that he could ensure that we got the shots/poses that we wanted. He also worked with the venue staff to ensure there were certain locations that we could use to take photos. The entire time, he was organized and professional to everyone involved in the process. I cannot believe that we got such excellent quality photos for the price that we paid!! Ryan was such a great value for the quality of work and I recommend him to anyone!
