Introduction: There are ample opportunities for students to improvise to accompaniments provided by me, the teacher. I also play duets with my students. This promotes team work and listening skills. The students are encouraged to listen to how the harmonies fit the melody that they play. I also discovered a piano series where the students are the center of an orchestra as they play a simple piece of music while the orchestra accompanies them. I would also like to offer Choral Music Conducting. Maybe a student can conduct his/her own choir or just understand what the choir director does to keep the choir performing as a unit. I enjoy meeting my students and sharing my knowledge of the piano and music with them. I also like to hear about their musical experiences and I encourage them to share anything music-related that they would like. It is also so gratifying when the student works so hard and starts to understand and play a tune on the piano or to play a duet with me and listen to the harmonies produced. It's an amazing joy to behold.

Piano Lessons (for adults)

Learning the piano with Ms. Debbie was so much fun, and she made it EASY!!! I never thought I'd be able to learn but I did very well she said. :) I had to stop my lessons with her only because I moved, but I'm so sad I had to stop them. She's a very, very good teacher for the adult learner, I can only imagine she does very well with younger students too. She explains things very well and in simple form, also she's always quick to respond to any questions asked through text message/phone calls after lesson days. Learning the beginnings of the piano with Ms. Debbie was one of the best things I did for myself!! Thank-you so much for the lessons we had together~

Piano Lessons (for adults)

I've only had two lessons, but as an adult with absolutely no experience, Debbie is very patient and encouraging. She knows exactly what method to use to teach me and make sure I understand. I feel certain she is just as skilled in teaching experienced students.

Debbie's enthusiasm and knowledge of music is inspiring especially for beginner students. I would recommend her lessons to those interested in 1-on-1 lessons. In the short period of time learning the piano, I have achieved more than I sought to learn in the beginning. Great teacher of music!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

It's not really a difficult pricing system, but if the student pays by the month and there is a fifth lesson that month, the fifth lesson is free. In other words, the lessons are five lessons for the price of four. 60-minute lesson once a week=$45 per hour, 30-minute lesson once a week=$25 a week.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I will register the student and schedule a lesson time. Then we will commence with the basics of learning the piano.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am constantly reading and finding new materials to supplement my teaching. I have recently become a member of Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) where I get to hear from other peer professionals in my field.
