About

I offer both online and local piano lessons in the Metairie/New Orleans area and surrounding communities, drawing on over a decade of teaching experience. My lessons are interactive and creative. Students improvise with teacher-provided accompaniments, play duets with me, and learn to hear how harmonies support the melody they’re playing. I truly enjoy getting to know my students, hearing about their musical experiences, and watching their hard work turn into real music. If this sounds like the right fit, I’d love to talk about your goals and get started. In addition, I offer choral music conducting lessons for those who want to conduct their own choir or better understand how a director keeps a choir performing as one. I am currently President of the Metairie Music Club, promoting music in our communities. I will also take on the role of Recording Secretary for the La. Federation of Music Club, a companion to our local association.

Learning the piano with Ms. Debbie was so much fun, and she made it EASY!!! I never thought I'd be able to learn but I did very well she said. :) I had to stop my lessons with her only because I moved, but I'm so sad I had to stop them. She's a very, very good teacher for the adult learner, I can only imagine she does very well with younger students too. She explains things very well and in simple form, also she's always quick to respond to any questions asked through text message/phone calls after lesson days. Learning the beginnings of the piano with Ms. Debbie was one of the best things I did for myself!! Thank-you so much for the lessons we had together~

I've only had two lessons, but as an adult with absolutely no experience, Debbie is very patient and encouraging. She knows exactly what method to use to teach me and make sure I understand. I feel certain she is just as skilled in teaching experienced students.

I am a new student that has been a student for three weeks. Debbie is very patient with me because I am an old man set in my ways. Should I find another person wanting too learn the piano, Debbie would be my recommendation. She is very knowlegable and passionate in what she does.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It's not really a difficult pricing system, but if the student pays by the month and there is a fifth lesson that month, the fifth lesson is free. In other words, the lessons are five lessons for the price of four. 60-minute lesson once a week=$35 per hour, 45-minute lesson= $30 once week, 30-minute lesson once a week=$25 a week.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will register the student and schedule a lesson time. Then we will commence with the basics of learning the piano.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am constantly reading and finding new materials to supplement my teaching. I have recently become a member of Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) where I get to hear from other peer professionals in my field.
