Introduction: I've been teaching private lessons here for about five years and my students are my passion. Each relationship built during private lessons is an important one, and I take the role of teacher seriously. But I also make room for fun.
I offer private lessons to adults and children of any experience level and in style styles. Lessons include training in music theory, sight reading (where applicable), ear training, technique, and learning repertoire.
Because each student is unique, lessons are always tailored to the student's level and interests.
Lessons are taught in my studio in Midcity where I have an upright piano, a full keyboard with amp, a small keyboard, some extra instruments, and a music library, recording ability and other tools to enhance each student's experience.
Additional lesson time can be requested to focus on composition, more music theory, or a particular goal. All lessons are tailored to the individual student's needs and evolve over time.
I also offer group lessons for students taking private instruction to perform for each other and practice giving constructive feedback. Other group lessons have included lessons in composition, music history, and in learning to listen.
My work is pure joy. I get to spread my love for music to my students and help them achieve their goals. I share in the joy each student gets from reaching a new milestone, and I genuinely care about my students goals, opinions, and life in general. Teaching music lessons has been one of most fulfilling jobs I've done.
