Did a great job. Had a couple of windows that broke in a storm. I posted the work at 730 am. Response by 830... estimate and measurements by noon. Came back in the evening to repair the windows. All in one day. Nice job!

UPDATE 04 MARCH 2018 After Kevin was asked to stop work on this project, I asked three different contractors their opinion of the work that had been done so far. All three recommended I pull up the flooring job that had been done and start over (and not all of these contractors stood to gain from my decision to re-do the work). The defects in the work Kevin performed were just too numerous to salvage a decent floor. To be clear, I will list these defects below. Additional pictures also attached. 1. The laminate flooring had not been tapped together properly, resulting in separated sections in every room that had been done. 2. The laminates were not properly cut around several parts of the base profile, which left gaps that were then filled in with brown putty (something that should never be done with laminate flooring). 3. The direction the flooring laid in one bedroom was different from that of the rest of the house. 4. The laminate flooring was laid over the lower closet door fixture. 5. The laminates were cut to short so that the water barrier and concrete showed in some areas along the wall. 6. The job including hanging drywall, but no mud had been applied to the drywall - it has only been screwed in place. (This was found while demo-ing the work that had been done) 7. The base board and shoe mold were mounted such that several gaps were left. Between my initial payment to Kevin of $1200 and the $1000 I spent on materials, my losses from this job total $2200. The flooring has been removed and is currently being completely re-done by another contractor. ORIGINAL REVIEW 01 MARCH 2018 I actually had to stop the job and ask Kevin to leave my home. The job done to that point was that bad; I've never had to do this. I had Kevin and his crew working on a new laminate flooring install along with base board and shoe molding installation. This job had to be done due to water damage, and some of the lower drywall also had to be replaced. Kevin made a great first impression. He really seemed to know what he was talking about and was very clear about what needed to be done. He was quick to respond to inquiries and was eager to get started. However, when he started the job, suddenly (and peculiarly) he began to have issues with his phone such that my calls went straight to voicemail. Text messages and emails also went unanswered. The job also dragged on three days longer than initially promised, and comms deteriorated progressively. Concurrently, as the flooring was laid the full extent of incompetence became clear. As the attached photos show, the laminate flooring wasn't latched together properly, and this resulted is almost systematic gaps in the slats which will only get worse over time. Further, many of the base boards were either cut too short or sloppily. Also, in many spots there was a gap between the flooring and shoe mold. See photos for details, the work really was quite bad, bad enough to warrant dismissal. Kevin is a good guy, but there were major issues with quality of work and communications. Unfortunately cannot recommend.

I should have believed the prior reviews . Kevin would show up a few hours a day . He was very inconsistent. He wanted the money upfront that’s when the Alarms went off. Not only did he not finish the job after I paid him the full 6,000.00 but the Quality is horrible . So many uneven or missed cuts and gaps . I asked for a a deck with a roof . It’s looks like what I wanted but as you look closer you see all the gaps on the handrails and ceiling . He also used philips screws not torque screws . I have not seen or heard from him in 3 months and we are still finding screws all over the lawn and driveway. He decided to change his number so I can’t reach him . We ended up hire Scott Nolan out of metarie to finish up the job . This is our first bad experience with thumbtack , I hope his services are removed from this website . I will be deleting this app after this post .
