Working with Mike was a dream. His team refinished our whole first floor, and installed two hardwood floors and a new carpet on our second floor of our new home. We needed the work done within a very specific time frame before we moved in, and it wasn’t an issue! I can't recommend Mike and his team at FCI more highly. Mike took the care to really listen to our needs and look at our spaces so he could help us decide whether to move forward with hard wood, vinyl or manufactured hardwood. We ended up converting two rooms and a staircase from old carpet to pre-treated hardwood and couldn't be happier. Mike was up front, clear and communicative about every detail from the itemized costs to the timeline. The installation process was as smooth as can be. Our materials ended up arriving early and Mike had his team complete the job in two days. They even worked around our schedule of cleaning up early the first day because we were having a family gathering. His installers were fantastic and took the time to make sure every detail was right. The floors are absolutely BEAUTIFUL and have changed the character of our home.

While the initial consultation with the owner, Mike, was promising, the actual execution fell short of the high-quality standards promised. Mike was knowledgeable and detailed regarding the technical requirements of the job, specifically the need for floor leveling to prevent plank warping, but the craftsmanship did not match the pitch.
The Issues:
Poor Initial Execution: The stairs were initially completed at a subpar level, featuring missing trim and exposed wood edges and on the final step, the crew ran out of material and chose to "piecemeal" two scraps together rather than sourcing a new plank, creating an eyesore in an otherwise solid-wood installation.
Multiple Re-works: They missed a plank behind a door and took three separate visits to correct sloppy, uneven work on the stiars. Because they had to return later to fix the missing plank, the new material came from a different lot, resulting in a visible color variance.
Structural Defects: Despite the prep work discussed, there are significant dips in high-traffic walkways where the floor sways and wiggles. The project manager, Marcus, claimed this was the "best they could do."
Verdict: To their credit, Marcus made a genuine effort to return and remedy the errors until the job reached an "acceptable" level. However, for the price of a high-end installation, I expected much better attention to detail and first-time quality. I would not use this company again for future projects.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We provide a no-obligation estimate by visiting the client's home to assess the project. During this visit, we bring our mobile showroom, which includes samples of all our flooring options. This allows the customer to see the products in their own space and place them next to their furniture, helping them make a more informed decision about their project.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We will work with any customer. We have done both residential and commercial floors.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Work with someone who is willing to listen to you, understand what you are looking for, and work with you to achieve the desired outcome. Attention to detail is important; accurate measurements and a look at the subfloor should all be done during the estimate in order to give you an accurate price.
