FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer discounted pricing for students who live in my immediate travel area, full semester payments, and for families with 2 or more students. There is only a one-time Registration Fee of $15.00. Students have the option of paying for lessons by the semester in 1 payment or in 5 monthly installments.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
During the first few lessons I ask students many questions and listen to a few of their favorite songs in determining their playing level and musical knowledge. I invite the parent's to sit in the lesson at all times but especially the 1st few lessons so that they may see my teaching style and how I will be working with their student. I then introduce them to my warmup and make a plan of action to move forward. I prefer to utilize the books already owned by the student if possible before having the student purchase any new books or music.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes. I have attended many Master Classes by well-renowned flutists and educators such as Robert Dick, Jeanne Baxtresser, Paula Robison, Alexis Still, Fenwick Smith, the late Thomas Nyfinger, Samuel Baron, Paul Edmund-Davies, and many more. I continued my study of saxophone and clarinet with various teachers after college, as well as studying voice and acoustic guitar.
