As a Singer/Songwriter going into the studio sans a band has always been a tricky thing, that is until I started working with Mike at Plaid Dog Recording. First and foremost he is a extremely talented producer/musician who understands all too well the creative mind. From the first project he remastered for me to my current ongoing EP Mike has exceeded my expectations. Responsive, fun and professional, every session was productive and a positive learning experience for me. The room is amazing and the equipment is well maintained and I felt completely comfortable with all of the musicians he hand picked for me.Also a woman, I have never felt so comfortable, safe & supported as I did from preproduction to the final mix - and for someone who has been doing this for a while, that says quite a bit. His business model is sound and I cant wait to back into the studio!

Mike is one of the best engineers and producers I've ever worked with or know. His ear is incredible, his mixes are fantastic. He knows when to step in and when to get out of the way, when to augment a song and when to let it be. The room at Plaid Dog is in my opinion the best in the Boston area; the studio is great, super cozy, great gear and backline. I've worked with and known Mike for a long time, and trust that he has nothing but the best ears and intentions for the job.

Mike is the BEST and recording at Plaid Dog was an awesome experience! We recorded a four song EP with him earlier this year. The studio is a great space, very comfortable and welcoming. Mike was super patient and supportive but also honest, thoughtful, and great at what he does - everything I was looking for in an engineer and producer. He was prompt and very communicative throughout the mixing and mastering process too, and accommodated us even though we couldn't be there in person. If you're looking for a studio in the Boston area, definitely go to Plaid Dog Recording!

I couldn't be happier with my experience working with Plaid Dog Recording. I recorded my last 2 EPs with them & Mike produced both records. They have monster ears and create a comfortable environment to support you throughout the entire recording process. They're always honest in the studio too, which was really important at each step of both projects. Their communication was quick & reliable, which was huge when scheduling all the studio time & musicians. I'll absolutely be back for my next project!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Artists do not pay out-of-pocket to record at our studio. Plaid Dog has a unique crowdfunding process that covers all of your expenses to make a great album with us.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We start by creating 1 promotional song and video to help market your crowdfunding campaign. During your campaign, we provide expert marketing and support to ensure we raise the funds we need. After your campaign wraps, we use the funds we've raised to get back into the studio and record the rest of your album.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Plaid Dog's team of skilled producers have worked on countless albums and have experience recording all genres. Our working mode is collaborative, flexible, and focused on helping artists achieve their vision.
