The kids were a group of second graders in an elementary school setting. There were about 115 of them regular education and exceptional children. They all had fun. The magic was amazing, Derek was engaging, and he understood how to keep things moving to keep the students from being bored. The price was a great value for 45 minutes of entertainment. He entertained the whole time, no fillers. The kids talked about the magician the rest of the day. Highly recommended.

In a word, AMAZING! I’m not sure there is enough highway to write the perfect review of The Magic of Derek Raposo. Initial contact: He is engaging, responsive and you feel at ease from minute one!. He is so organized, professional and I know he is busy, but when he is talking to you, it’s your event thatis the most important; he is genuine. Everything feels under control. When you are planning a large scale event and wear many hats, his calm presence and knowledge is incredibly reassuring. Communication is top notch, leading up to even and final call just prior. And wow, day of he beat all of us there by a couple of hours! He had all of his illusions out of his truck and set up at the venue before we put out our first silent auction item! We were so excited for the event to start and he was incredible, very engaging with the audience; high energy and FUNNY. He invited guests to participate selected people from the audience to join him and just blew our minds!! He is an incredible magician and illusionist, I am still trying to figure out how he sliced himself in half and made a table levitate and I happened to be holding the other side of the tablecloth. No strings, no noise just MAGIC! We were stunned, people came up to me at the event. He is the “REAL DEAL”, “Derek was EXCELLENT”; everyone, overwhelmingly effusive. He blew our minds and I would highly reccomend The Magic of Derek Raposo to everyone. He is MAGIC!! Thank you Derek we cannot wait to have you at our next event!!

Derek was everything we had hoped for when we wanted a magician for our daughter’s 8th birthday party. He was professional, accommodating, and absolutely entertaining. He handled the group of enthusiastic and excited kids very well. Derek was responsive to communications and answered any questions we asked. He will be highly recommended by us to anyone that asks.

Derek's show was OUTSTANDING! He has incredible stage presence, hilarious (yet appropriate) jokes for both kids and adults, and magic tricks that leave the audience captivated. Derek performed for a little over 100 4th graders, and had everyone on the edge of their seats. His tricks are family-friendly, fun for all ages, and make you wonder, "How can he do it?!" Our audience of 9/10 year olds LOVED it, so any age group would truly love his show. He had incredible command of everyone's attention and has young kids of his own, so he could handle a crowd of young children easily.
Working with Derek was an absolute breeze. He was incredibly accommodating and came fully prepared with all of his own equipment. His communication was clear, consistent, and timely, keeping us informed every step of the way. Derek is very personable and easy to work with, which made the entire experience seamless. He truly goes above and beyond!
