FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I keep it very simple by providing customers my daily wage plus cost for materials.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I first contact the customer to arrange a day/time to visually look at the masonry project. I take measurements and mentally process what materials are going to be required. Then I return to my office and calculate my labor and material cost. I hand write those figures, along with an itemized list of work to be performed, on a contract form. I then present that written contract to the homeowner, asking for their signature to solidify the contract. I ask for half of monies be paid. The customer's first check pays initial labor and materials needed to complete the job. The second payment is made upon completion and homeowners' approval.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated from Malden Catholic in 1988 and received an Associate's Degree from Bunkerhill Community College; however, my true education came from working hands-on with uncle those summer months.
