Introduction: COVID-19 UPDATE: I am currently teaching vaccinated students in my studio in Brookline, MA while I continue offering lessons via Zoom. I'm LZ and I teach piano, voice, ukulele, guitar, and songwriting. I enjoy teaching beginner and intermediate students of all ages. I am a classically trained pianist, singer/songwriter, and graduate of Berklee College of Music (B.M., Songwriting 2020). My students learn correct technique and instrumental skills, emotional expression through music, theoretical knowledge and how to apply that to their own music-making. I meet students where they are, regardless of age or musical experience. I foster musical skill based on a student's goals in a fun and nurturing environment, with musical engagement and creativity at the forefront of my mind. I believe everyone has a story to tell and I am passionate about guiding students through exploration of their own musical stories. I am certified in Levels I and II of Somatic Voicework(TM), The LoVetri Method, and practice these principles during voice lessons to the best of my ability. I also provide audio production services as well as singer/songwriter music entertainment, and custom songwriting services. As a performer, I am very comfortable in front of crowds. I moonlight as trivia host in Brighton and East Boston. Please reach out to me if you'd like any MC or host services as well!

Singing Lessons

Working with Elle has been really incredible. I initially wanted to take voice lessons because I love to sing and it was something I did as a child/teen and in quarantine, I found myself trying to get back to the things I love so I thought, WHY NOT!? Our lessons have transformed from technique work (which we still obviously do) into a more cathartic experience for me. She is an amazing vocal coach, but more than that, has a gift for being able to hold space for me to feel my emotions and connect it to the music. She doesn't shy away from that, which is beautiful and rare. These weekly lessons are something I really look forward to and feel they have helped me grow as an individual, more than just vocally. There is something truly healing about our sessions, which is something you cannot find everywhere. I would highly recommend working with her.

Piano Lessons

Elle has been patient, kind, and dedicated in each lesson. She uses the time wisely and really listens to what the students goals are and structures the lessons based on that. As someone who has never played an instrument and with no background in music I was intimidated to learn how to play the keyboard and sing. But Elle has helped me become comfortable and goes at my learning pace. I’m so happy that I made the decision to learn and that Elle is my teacher.

Music Entertainment

Elle Zee is an amazing singer/musician and even better person! She played at a recent fundraising event I had for the Boston Marathon and completely energized the room. She came fully prepared and ready to rock to a bunch of crowd-loved songs and holiday music since my event was in December. Her smile is contagious and voice, absolutely stunning. I am so lucky to have had Elle there to support me!

Piano Lessons

Elle meets young students where they are at, with playfulness and a professional attitude. She blends music theory into whatever music the kids are interested in, and she responds to their interests and finds sheet music appropriate for their levels. After just a few trial lessons, my daughter was applying music theory to her own beginner’s compositions.

Thank you so much for this review! It’s been so much fun to teach both of your kids!

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

FOR MUSIC LESSONS: $55 for 30 minutes $65 for 45 minutes $75 for 60 minutes I charge monthly based on the amount of lessons you want to take in one month (average 4). I offer discounts if you are able to pay for 4 lessons up front. I charge a $5 travel free for distances under 5 miles, $10 for 5-10 miles, etc. I receive many requests for lessons, gigs, and songwriting services - if I reserve time to plan and teach your lesson, that is time I am not able to give to somebody else. Payment for lessons is due one week before the lesson is scheduled. Payments are non-refundable. Make-up lessons are offered if cancellation occurs more than 24 hours in advance. I accept Venmo, cash, or check. FOR MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT SERVICES: I charge $150/hr for the time I spend playing at your event, and a flat rate travel fee (minimum $50) determined at booking based on travel distance and estimated set-up/break-down time. If the event is in East Boston, i charge no travel fee, just hourly for set-up and break-down. I do not charge for the time I spend rehearsing for your event. Optionally, you can choose to attend a final dress rehearsal for an additional charge. Consultation is free and I can provide my own sound equipment if necessary. 50% deposit (on total quoted price) is due upon booking. 50% of this deposit (25% of total quoted price) is refundable if event is cancelled within one week of scheduled date. I retain half of this deposit to cover for the time I spend learning and rehearsing for the event, and to block my calendar for any other events that could have been scheduled for the agreed-upon date. FOR MC/HOST SERVICES: I charge $100/hr and and a flat rate travel fee (minimum $25) determined at booking based on travel distance and estimated set-up/break-down time. 50% deposit (on total quoted price) is due upon booking. 50% of this deposit (25% of total quoted price) is refundable if event is cancelled within one week of scheduled date. I retain half of this deposit to cover for the time I spend preparing for the event, and to block my calendar for any other events that could have been scheduled for the agreed-upon date.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

MUSIC LESSONS: My main goal, especially with my younger students, is to make music fun and engaging. I individualize my lessons with student goals and musical interests in mind. As we explore the joy of creating sounds, I introduce music theory and lessons in technical mastery. I encourage all of my students to create their own music and musical identities.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have studied classical piano for 15 years, acoustic guitar for 6 years, ukulele for 4 years, singing for 5 years, songwriting for 3 years. I am currently a Berklee Student, graduating in May 2020. I am continuously doing research and trainings in teaching techniques for all instruments and voice.
