Our most recent project with Claudette was a design renovation of our family's lake cottage - a hodgepodge of furniture, colors and items collected over nearly a century of extended family living. With a major renovation coming soon, Claudette guided us through her "WIRED" method to help us choose flooring, cabinets, and colors that could integrate all of the antiques and quirky pieces. We ended up with a plan that brings forward the feelings of comfort, ease, and connection - reworking not only the colors and textures, but creating a new layout that will enhance our family gatherings. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I typically charge a project fee. My hourly rate is $150.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will schedule a 20 minute discovery call with a new customer to clearly understand the goals for a project and discuss pricing. Then I'll send over a letter of agreement or project proposal. Once accepted, we schedule an initial interview to scope out the vision for the project, including the clients' needs, desires, and how they want to feel in the space.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an interior design certificate from the New York Institute of Art and Design, a certification in Science in Design, and a certification from the International Association of Color Consultants. I also have a Masters in Social Work and I'm a certified coach. Both of these credentials have taught me to listen deeply clients. I've also been an entrepreneur for over 20 years -- I know how to partner with clients, while guiding them to the design outcome they seek.
