Introduction: **My office is located in Cambridge, MA. I now offer Cupping in addition to a massage if you choose for a additional $25.** I’m here to help you melt away the stress and find your Zen. Whether you’re training for a sport, getting back into a gym routine, or work has got you stressed, adding massage as a regular health routine is one of the best investments to your future. My style is slow and focused on allowing your body to completely let go. I do a lot of Myofascial work and it’s aimed at getting your body to it’s best. This isn’t a typical massage. We will formulate a plan and I will help facilitate change in your body. I’ll use my technique, critical thinking skills and intuition to put together a muscular therapy treatment that will leave you in a state of Zen.

Massage Therapy

I believe I found a massage therapist that will finally help me improve my quality of life. Derek helped me understand my problems, explaining everything so I could interpret his feedback then go home and apply what I've learned in my everyday life. I'll be signing up for more appointments, unquestionably.

Massage Therapy

Derek was great! It’s been a while since I’ve had a quality massage from a LMT who was able to find all of my knots without me having to direct them. He was very intuitive, professional and personable. You can tell he really knows what he’s doing and has a deep understanding of the body. I was relaxed the entire time. I booked my next session before leaving. Look forward to seeing Derek again!

Massage Therapy

Derek offers excellent service in a comfortable setting. My initial experience was great! He’s very attentive to the clients needs, informative and educational, and extremely professional. Having a therapist explain a few techniques and benefits is a plus. The advice provided regarding stretching and certain exercises tops the experience off along with the unexpected follow-up provided.

Massage Therapy

I was a hot mess when I came to BodyZen, and I have a long history of injuries. He was sweet, welcoming, non judgmental. Honestly the best therapist I have had in a very long time. Could not recommend more.

Massage Therapy

Totally Worth It!! I was in need of some good work on my super tight body and I was very happy that I was able to walk out of my massage feeling an instant difference. Derek clearly knows the body very well and is very well experienced at working the right areas with the right pressure that makes a huge impact immediately. Will recommend to everyone to give it a try and I myself will definitely be back.

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I also offer package deals. Packs of 4 - 60 minute massages will be $360.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

First I like to speak with my client and find out what brings them here. What are their goals? Is it just for relaxation? Chronic injury? Pain management? Better mobility? A resolution to take care of yourself? Once that is settled and we have established a base, we then do the massage. The first massage is me getting to know you. Where I need to go. Where I should focus. I’ll attend to your requests for certain areas. After the treatment is finished, we will conclude by either formulating a treatment plan or scheduling your next session. I do a lot of clinic based work. My style is slow, orthopedic and myofascial techniques. This isn’t a normal massage. It’s a beginning for you to feel better.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Usui Reiki 1997 Charles River School of Shiatsu 2000 The Massage School Boston 2016 Massage and bodywork has always been my life. I started a unique journey of self discovery during my teenage years with martial arts and Eastern medicine. It led me to massage and bodywork. I studied shiatsu at the Charles River School of Shiatsu in 2000 and moved to Southern California when I finished. I had a successful bodywork practice out of a yoga studio in Huntington Beach, CA. Years later I came back to the east coast and went to the Massage School in Boston. During school I refined my knowledge in Deep Tissue, Sports, Trigger Points ans Myofascial Treatments. I decided to expand on that and am currently getting my CAMT 1 certification.
