Hi, this is Rod Gregoire the owner of Merrimack Valley Wi-Fi Pros. We started this business in 2020 during the pandemic because as an engineer in the computer networking field with 30+ years of experience, I was astonished at how many of my colleagues had terrible Wi-Fi. We figured if the network engineers are struggling with their Wi-Fi what are regular people doing? We decided to use our knowledge and skills to help home owners and small businesses with their networking and WIFI issues. Now we have helped hundreds of home owners and small business owners get the WIFI they need.

I know enough about setting up a network to be dangerous, but I needed someone to just come to my home and set the network up professionally, so connections were solid, speed was the best that I could get and all my devices could be managed on the network. Rod came to my home and installed a new modem (removing Comcast's) and a new router. I was experiencing buffering issue while streaming, Amazon devices had a serious lag in response time and often commands needed to be repeated and they just failed to work properly. After he completed his work, I let everything run for a week and am just in awe at how wonderful it is all working. All my smart devices are responsive and fast, my laptops and phones have super-fast upload and download speeds. Rod was willing to adjust his schedule to do the job. If you are done with buffering and slow reponse of your devices on your network, I highly recommend that you use Merrimack Valley WiFi Pros. It will be money well spent.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We charge a service charge and for time and materials.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First we discuss the project on the phone for free, what problems they are having, what is the size and type of their home, if there are any special features of the home (e.g. radiant heat flooring, interior chimney, etc.), how many people and devices in the home, and what their goal is. From that info I give them an estimate with a range of how much time I think will be required to figure out the problem and then implement a solution. If I think that there will be equipment involved I give them an estimate of the cost for that as well. Then we figure out a good day and time for me to come to their house and make their Wi-Fi work great!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've worked in software engineering for high-speed computer networking equipment for decades. I have a very good understanding of computer networking and the underlying technologies in Wi-Fi. I am a natural problem solver with degrees in computer science and mathematics.
