- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Entertainers don't generally give discounts. I have set prices. I do have different prices set aside for certain events/venues. I will travel anywhere for a show. My price does go up after :45 minutes of travel. I am, however, very fair with my pricing. According to the internet, my pricing is about $50 or so under average. I could raise my prices to match the average. But I understand that people work hard for their money and bills keep coming in, so I try to be affordable.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically, we exchange phone numbers. I find out their exact needs. I ask for a deposit. Then we go forward accordingly.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
There are many books, DVDs and downloads for magic. There are also magic shops. If there isn't a local one, you can find them online. One thing a lot of people don't realize, learning magic can be expensive. The average cost of a magic DVD is $35. Magic props cost anywhere from $5 for small items up to thousands of dollars. Typically a good prop, for what I do, costs $50 to $250. And that cost is for 2 to 6 minutes worth of entertainment each.
