Introduction: Tai-Chi Chuan is a internal Martial Arts discipline of mindful movements that refines practical concepts to daily life. Teaching Tai-Chi Chuan is challenging to teach though equally rewarding to practice. I take pride in my work and carefully explain the best methods to individuals about how to study patience and technique through this ancient philosophy. I love working with people learning who find interest in improving their lifestyle.

I have only good things to say about Nicanor. He is an excellent instructor who is very patient, willing to explain details, help make adjustments and teach the same movements as many times as needed, until I get it. He uses many different metaphors and stories to help me understand the concepts, movements and how to perform them. He teaches "real" Tai Chi with an authentic lineage which contains true power. Power for those in need of healing or power for those interested in martial arts. The teaching includes weapons and push hands, not just forms. I travel about 50 minutes each way to attend class and private lesson. Yes, he is that good. Much better than the other teachers in my local area (there are quite a few). Classes are typically an hour and half but Nicanor is willing to spend extra time with students at the end of class and we often will go longer than the scheduled time. I highly encourage you to try the classes and learn a truly beautiful and power art from one of the best in the area.

One of the very first things I appreciated about Nicanor's class was the humor with the seriousness. This is a very internal style of tai chi, requiring a lot of concentration. A little levity helps us relax and (okay maybe a bit ying-yangish here) get to a more serious level. Nic is patient and committed. I've only studied with him for three months and there's so much to learn! It's been wonderful sharing with the other classmates too. Nic's created a terrific community.

A verry dedicated teacher with a tramendous amount of experience, Weather one is beginning or has a lot of practice experience I feel Nick can help you to develope further. In fact what ever you are looking to develope I believe tai chi to be a high art that can help one in many other areas. Nick is open minded, patient and able to adapt to the needs of the student. If you want to grow in tai chi and or in general I would take advantage of studying with this most excellent teacher.

I began training in Tai Chi with Nicanor about 18 months ago, and although I had trained in a martial arts background which included Tai Chi for over 15 years, learning Tai Chi from Nicanor has been outstanding. He truly understand the internal aspects of Tai Chi and teaches in a way that my Western mind can understand. He is a gifted teacher, and incredibly generous in sharing his knowledge with his students. I am thrilled to be studying with Nicanor and hope to continue for many years ahead.
