FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I always loved playing in construction spaces: a broken down farmhouse, new construction sites around my neighborhood and the abandoned Pleasure Island buildings. I visualized the space of light filtering through huge trees that I climbed equivalent to the filtered colored light of church windows but the space was not as embracing. I have viewed extraordinary spaces in movie sets and have had exceptional opportunities to have been part of award winning design in offices. I'd love to help clients achieve that special design, that place that is uplifting, their Shangri-la.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Any design and drafting work to start out with.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I have used my knowledge and insight to improve: exterior elevations at Charlton West Pet Hospital; to reduce the exterior building envelope with a more efficient plan layout at the Swiss Ridge Kennels; at Fiske Hall design the bridge structure concept to minimize the structural depth improving head clearance below and proposed my preference for an alternate interior design color pallet that the Client loved. I designed concepts for complex HVAC systems, vertical circulation and structure at the Mandarin Oriental Boston to achieve low floor to floor heights with varied program requirements.
