Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: Local Full-Service Contractor STRUCTURAL REPAIRS Remodeling, Additions, Renovations, Framing, Total Home Restorations, Finish Work, Built-ins, Decks, Pergolas, Outdoor showers, Windows, Doors, Flooring, Tile (kitchen / bath), Formica, Custom Showers, Roofing (cedar /asphalt), Siding, Basement Finishing, Suspended Ceilings, Bulkheads, Structural Repairs, Chimney Repair (flashing / re-pointing). We love working on antique homes, to replicate period details, fabricating new assemblies to match and re establishing failing structural parts to reestablish the structural integrity of the buildings. If it's a wood frame house it's more than likely that we've seen it/done it before (over twenty years) and we apply that experience to the small design details particular to our coastal environment, especially water proofing & wind-driven rain problems. Quality Work at Reasonable Prices Free Estimates and Local References I hold an unrestricted Construction Supervisors License. Love to see the look on a clients face when they see the transformation of an old tired space into a fresh new look.

Hired on Thumbtack

The job was to secure hand rails on two stairways to provide safety and come up to code. The work was excellent. The only problem was the carpenter arrived several hours later than expected, but considering he changed his schedule to come out on a Saturday after I expressed concern about a potential accident if someone put weight on a loose handrail, I wasn't too upset about the wait.

Falmouth Home Improvements's reply
I gave the client my usual estimate, which includes: "As with all renovations/repairs if on removing overlying materials it is discovered that further repair is necessary the work will be additional at the approval of client. Materials can not be always be accurately described, additional materials may be necessary to complete the work and will be billed at final invoice" He approved and paid a deposit with that disclaimer, on finding that the rot had extended past what was apparent on initial inspection further work and materials were necessary to complete the job. He had a problem with that? Before I gave him the final bill he was very happy with my work....

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I maintain my csl by continuing education requirements and subscribe to several professional journals.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

Window and door installations, cedar roofs, basement refinishing, cedar siding, custom garage doors, structural repairs, additions, decks, dock construction, design & build, fireplace surrounds, asphalt roofs, custom trims, interior stairs, trim, wood floors, house gutting and rehabs, kitchen & bath remodeling, bulkheads- steel & wood, complex trim schedules, coastal waterproofing, traditional solutions with modern materials to prevent water intrusion by the driven rain we see here on Cape Cod

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Look at their work, get references, hire a contractor with a Massachusetts Construction Supervisors License. You have to rely on the structural, hidden parts to hold everything together, and for that you have to hire someone that knows what they're doing. I've chased too much shoddy work, lol.
