People Training For Good Dogs

Introduction: I started teaching while I was the animal officer for the Town of Falmouth because the area dog trainers would not help everyone in need in my community. Having a background with horses and the realization that traditional dog training wasn't preparing people for what they would face in real life, I developed a program that covers all of the bases for success in today's lifestyles. This program heavily centers on teaching all members of the dog's family how to work in unison with their dogs, to understand their dog's limitations as animals and life from their dog's point of view. This program also changes the paradigm about dogs, asking dog owners to focus beyond "rescuing" but to defend their dogs from the miscommunication that runs rampant between people and dogs that when problems arise, the dog is saddled with all of the blame. The most rewarding aspect is to show people that it is possible to make things better by changing what they know and what they do.
