FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I utilize judgment, economies of scale and a square footage range per hour based on a density pricing system. Nice and confusing right? Let me explain a little further. The typical cleaner can do around 2,000 - 4,000 square feet per hour depending on the type of cleaning/space. This is where the density pricing comes into effect. Think of a call center that has 100 cubicles, with 100 trash cans. Now think of a regular office with standard office spaces, common areas, offices, etc. You will move slower on the call center because of the extra activity/density in the area. You will quote that closer to the 2,000 square foot per hour where you may quote the regular office at 3,000 square foot per hour. It also depends on many other things. I have to get the details of the scope of work, frequency, layout and determine where space falls on that scale for pricing. Rates are dependent upon the square footage. They can range from $14.00 per hour to $25.00 per hour depending. There are a lot of variables to consider.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My typical process is to set up an appointment with the customer for a site visit. I go to the appointment and meet the customer. I will discuss what is currently being done in the facility cleaning wise, happy / not happy etc. I will find out what the hot buttons are for that customer. When a customer tells you to come out for a quote and they are using someone else there is usually something that is not getting done properly. I will then take measurements and ask the customer if they have a budget that they are working with. The amount of the budget does not change my quote, my numbers are what they are. It will however provide me an ability to provide feedback to a customer regarding if it is too much or too little. I then take my information and put together my quote with defined scope of work. I then present the quote to the customer and break it down for them on how I arrived at my number. This level of detail is not common in this industry and it can be eye opening when you are paying too much or too little. In the end, whether a customer chooses to use my service or not, they will go forward knowing how to evaluate cleaning quotes and be more aware of what it will really take to clean their facility. If they choose to go forward with Jantize they get a really clean building. I will also be the direct point of contact for the company and I am the owner. I also perform quality inspections in order to identify problem areas as well as look for areas of improvement.
