I have owned my restaurant for several years now. Being a Chef and owning a small business are completely different things. One really has to make decisions from marketing to menu to types of ingredients and to the type of POS system. Since I opened the restaurant, it has done incredibly well. First two years were great for business. However as the business grew so did our operational challenges. We would have sales people come in and sell us solutions that were needed but would create unnecessary expenses. We had an accountant for several years and it was good while we were relatively small. After our third year we started running into issues with Meals Tax, casflow issue, employee turnover etc… Finances just did not make sense.
