Introduction: Spanish Guitar = Romance, Passion, Excitement! Classic songs from Spain and Latin America will bring your next event to life. I specialize in Rumba Flamenca (the style of the Gipsy Kings), but I also play a wide range of music from Spain and Latin America, and transcribe flute and harp music from the Andes for guitar. My repertoire includes rumbas, waltzes, boleros, and huapangos with songs from Spain, Mexico, Cuba, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Venezuela, Argentina, Paraguay, Peru, Chile and lots of Gipsy Kings! PLEASE NOTE: My minimum fee is $500 for a solo performance + $175 for each additional hour after 3 hours. I also charge travel expenses if your event is more that 60 miles away from me. If your budget matches, I would love to put a custom quote together for your special event. Thanks.

Tony did a fantastic job playing guitar for a family birthday party. I would definitely use him again! He was professional and the music was beautiful.

Tony played at our wedding and created the most beautiful vibe with his music. He took the time to meet with us to really understand what we were looking for and he exceeded our expectations. He put everyone at ease with his guitar playing and even learned to play our wedding song for the walk down the aisle. It was pure magic!

We have hired Tony Silva to play at many events we've hosted over the past 18 years. I love the way he blends musical styles originating from his Chilean ancestry with other South American genres and Spanish Flamenco. He is so sensitive to his audience that each time he plays it feels intimate and personal. He is constantly evolving and developing his music. I wholeheartedly recommend Tony Silva to anyone looking for live music for their event. Tony will make it very special and memorable.

Tony Silva played for our wedding and it was a day that I will never ever forget. I owe that feeling to Tony and his soothing music! My wife and I wanted a welcoming and cozy atmosphere for our guests. The music was top of mind for us and Tony was absolutely amazing to work with. Not only is he kind, thoughtful, and a sincere friend, but he was able to take a song request (Isn't She Lovely, by Stevie Wonder) and transform it into something so special and personal to us. He sang beautifully, with passion and soul. He also played the piano with grace as our guests arrived into the boathouse for our ceremony! Our guests were all so impressed to see a live musician and they danced along in their seats. It was the perfect way to walk down the isle. His music filled the space so full and vibrant, while the sun set around us, a kind of warm glow that we will never forget. We are so glad that Tony was a part of our special day; a memory we have cherished since 2010! I highly recommend Tony. Not only does his music come from his heart, he is the kindest, most reliable, and engaging person. He truly wants only the best for his clients and does everything he can to make sure the music is a reflection of that love. I highly, and wholeheartedly recommend Tony Silva for all of your musical & professional needs!

Tony Silva asked me to write a review of his performance at my wedding. Amanda and I were married 14 years ago in October. Coincidently, I was describing my wedding to a friend just a few days before Tony's call.I was telling my friend how it poured rain and that it was the happiest day of my life. I also recounted to him how Tony sang and played Bob Marley's "Three Little Birds" under the small packed tent we had erected. The whole tent filled with music as Tony got everyone in there singing along. When he finished there were whoops and cheers. The song under Tony's able musical leadership unified us. I remember the smiles and good feeling that was generated by those musical moments. When I recount the many elements of that special rainy day, I always mention Tony Silva's performance for us of "Three Little Birds". It is etched on our memories of that day as only heartfelt music can be. I imagine that is what anyone would want from a professional musician; that the music stay with you entwined in the personal interplays of those special moments.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

My minimum fee is $500. Typically I can perform solo for up to 3 hours for that price. I have an additional fee of $175 for each hour after 3 hours. I also charge travel expenses if your event is more that 60 miles away from me. Because every project is different, I'm happy to provide custom price quotes tiered for up to a 4 piece band. That way you can find the perfect balance for your budget and music entertainment needs.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Typically the customer will email me to start the conversation. We'll then schedule a quick call to go over specifics. From there, I will issue a contract and take a 50% deposit to hold the date. Any questions and follow up calls are welcomed once the date is confirmed. The balance is due on the day of the performance.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Although I am primarily self-taught, I have a BFA from UMass in Amherst where I studied music composition. I have also worked with a variety of music teachers over my life, including Latin music from Pepe Gaytan, Rumba Flamenca from Alvaro Sánchez Olvera, and I am currently studying Flamenco from Guillermo Guillén. The way I have learned the most is from consistent performing for well over a decade.
