- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was working in another area of the business when a regional director for the company I worked for asked to meet with me. He felt I would be a perfect fit as their Staff Trainer and to work with their business contacts. I had been filmed for a corporate training video in which I had spoken on Customer Service and Cultural diversity. He liked what I had said and agreed that work needed to be done. I accepted the offer and was VERY pleased with my role!
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Working with women who had been out of the work force for some time. To work with them through training to feel confident, relevant and prepared to make a living..and make a difference in their job. I worked with disabled employees, getting their views and their opinions on how to make their 'able' bodied fellow employees see them as equals in the work place.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
As I always say.."first impression DO count", if the trainer or presentation speaker you want to hire is comfortable to be around, confident and knowledgeable..then go for it! If you are left with a uncomfortable feeling, then pay attention! Would you subject your employees or clients to someone who is negative? People are subjective to their feelings first..if they can't get past 'feeling' bad, they will not learn, not be able to recall information.
