I am a certified professional dog/cat trainer for over 25 years. I will partner with you to show you how to navigate the potential challenges of life with your dog/cat by bringing out the best in them. I have owned numerous dogs and at present have a Doberman named Delta. I also have 3 cats that I have had since 2 weeks of age that I fostered from local shelters. My job is to help you make your pet a great member of your household. Our animals are God's creation and each one deserves to be loved and trained. I am skilled in identifying and managing problem behaviors using positive reinforcement methods. I am experienced in developing and leading group dog training classes. I have been mentoring with Susan Garrett a renowned world dog trainer. Whether you have a puppy, challenging adolescent, a newly adopted dog or cat or a dog or cat with behaviors that you would like changed, I am here to help. It is important to keep your dog or cat stimulated by using their mind also. I am not qualified to teach therapy dogs and I do not board dogs. It is my privilege to help you and your pet.

We called Wilma and she very promptly responded and scheduled a session. She offers a reasonable price for a jam packed session which my pup responded very well to. The techniques she showed us were effective when we tried them, and our dog caught on VERY quickly. It was a plus that she came to our home, as it was comfortable for both dog and my partner and I. The homework was simple and pup seemed to have fun working with her and us. Absolutely recommend and look forward to our next session with her.

Wilma was very thorough when observing my new puppy. After the first session, he is already more responsive to commands. Her suggestions are realistic and she is able to adjust advise if their are obstacles or unique circumstances.

Wilma was punctual, knowledgeable and patient with us. Wilma helped us with behavior issues with our dog by giving easy to follow, manageable exercises to work on. We felt she truly cares about animals and teaching owners how to understand their dog’s behavior. We have been doing our part with the games and training and hope to see our dog continue to improve.

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge lower than most pros because I want to make sure the dog stays with their family. The only time I charge more if I have to travel a long ways or if there is more than one dog.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to ask the clients to write down from most important to least what they would like to accomplish. Discuss the goals and start a plan to make it happen.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I went to the Animal Behavior College and am certified for dogs as well as cats. I have also gone to many classes on how to work with dogs and cats that are shy, aggressive, have chewing issues, toy or food possession issues, etc and have obtained certifications for these as well. I also am qualified to do scent training and have learned from my previous mentors to do trick classes. I do not train for therapy dogs and I do not board animals.
