FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Balloon Artist Standard Rates: 1 Hour Party: $85 2 Hour Party: $120 3 Hour Event: $150 4 Hour Event: $200 *Rates are also quoted and negotiated based on the amount of people expected at your party for any length of time. For instance, we would quote slightly higher if you expected 300 guests to get balloons in a two hour time frame than we would if you had a party of 7-50 guests.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
What I usually do is I send the customer my quote and rate for the services they are asking for. Sometimes I tweak my rates depending on what they need. For example, if someone wants balloon artistry for 20 kids for a 3 hour event, I will ask them to clarify how long they expect me to stay before I send them my final quote. The reason for this, is 20 kids can be taken care of within a short hour's time frame and I wouldn't want to over-charge for my services. Once I know exactly what my client wants and we have agreed on the final quote, I will send them an invoice detailing everything we discussed. My arrival time is based on when the client asks me to show up. For large events, I am often asked to come 15-20 minutes early. For birthday parties, I'm usually asked to come 5 minutes early. My aim is always customer satisfaction.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
When I was sixteen years old, my parents bought me a book on how to make balloon animals, and so I began making balloon animals, both simple and complex. The following Christmas, I was given a clown suit, three bags of balloons, and a large book. I learned how to make balloons early on from this book, and have kept adding balloons to my repertoire ever since.
