I am not my student's audience. I am there to assess if they are singing with or without proper vocal function. If they are singing with the proper function they can sing anything they want from musicals to rock and roll. They become the ones in control.
There is no more satisfying feeling than that of a job well done. I love the satisfaction of seeing my students achieve their vocal goals...when they master a song and add it formally to their repertoire - and leave the studio with more knowledge than before.

Im sooo very happy to have found Julie. Singing is like any hobby or skill you pursue, where you cant see how far youve come until a little bit of time has passed. Im so excited to say that while it didnt feel like work, or feel like I was training hard, my voice has changed for the better! I cant believe the difference between when I walked in for the first lesson, and where I am now, and it all happened naturally. I love that I can feel confident she is working and training my voice, even at times when Im there just to have fun and de-stress. As other reviewers said, she is very open to any style and will work with whatever inspires YOU. She is constantly training herself, which means you get the benefit of what she has learned and experienced, as well as what new information she gains from other singers and teachers. Im still taking lessons with Julie, and I look forward to more progress and discovery!

Julie was amazing, her instruction and preparation for the lesson was outstanding. Even within the span of one lesson, I feel like I made significant progress to my goal of improving my skills. I am very excited to be working with Julie in the future.

I am in the final stages of completing an album that has been immeasurably improved with Julie's help. I could offer praise, but I'll better leave to friends and followers of mine who have given me feedback like this: "Your vocals have improved amazingly." "Whatever it is you are doing with your singing, keep doing it."
I have had some of my most productive recording sessions right after lessons with Julie. In the better part of an afternoon, I reconstructed a complex vocal harmony piece that I had been struggling with for six months.
She is a great teacher and also a fun person. We have also spent a good deal of time discussing my artistic process in creating an album full of emotionally intense and in some respects challenging material, and I have appreciated her openness on this as well.

I took my first voice lesson with Julie about 6 months ago. As a songwriter new to performing, I wasnt comfortable with my voice as a tool and it showed. I struggled to truly own whatever tune I was playing and often I would have fatigue, sometimes with pain, after just a few songs. So I looked for help. If youve never taken a voice lesson before let me tell you, it can be an uncomfortable and embarrassing experience, especially for someone who does not consider themselves a singer. However, it did not take long to get over these feelings of insecurity as Julie is both sincere, kind, and professional. After about 3 lessons I noticed a significant increase in my confidence, delivery, and stamina. Ive not only been able to perform songs that were well out of my reach less than a year ago, but also able to play sets lasting over an hour which is a huge accomplishment for me.

Julie is a fantastic voice teacher. She doesn't use a one size fits all approach. She really listens and is able to pick up on sound quality issues, breathing, vowel and mouth shape improvements, etc. I'd recommend Julie to anyone regardless of their skill level. She is truly professional, knowledgeable about her craft, and makes lessons a joy.
