FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
To calculate an accurate quote I typically need to communicate with the client to get a better understanding of what their needs are and how a video is going to help them reach their goals. Skipping this step can lead to confusion and "guesstimates." I would rather provide an accurate quote.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When I work with a client for the first time I like to spell out expectations for the project. These could include a discussion of benchmarks, shoot dates, edit process, timelines and asset resources. Once these elements are agreed upon we begin the production process. For basic productions the process could be as simple as shooting an interview or event and handing off the footage. A more involved production could include the develop a concept, come up with a production schedule, draw up a storyboard and script, shoot video, collect and edit video assets and finally create drafts and a final product. The final is typically shared through a file sharing service such as DropBox.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BS in Communications with a concentration in video production from Fitchburg State University. I also go to conferences and workshops that focus on technology and storytelling techniques.
