I engaged Christina for makeup services during my vacation in Boston for a wedding. Finding a makeup artist in a big city can be overwhelming, but Thumbtack simplifies the process. Christina came to my hotel and provided her services at a price I found to be reasonable. In our initial discussions, she asked for my inspiration photo and a portrait of myself. Additionally, her communication was prompt and professional. When she arrived, Christina quickly set up and got to work. We enjoyed a lighthearted conversation throughout the session. Although I decided to change my desired look upon her arrival Christina was adaptable and successfully created the look I wanted. If you’re in the Quincy/Boston area, I highly recommend hiring Christina. She also maintained a high level of professionalism throughout her service. Thank you, Christina, for the fantastic makeup! She was very responsive and quick to reply to messages and texts, which I really appreciated. On the day of my appt, she did call to let me know she would be late, but she arrived almost an hour after the scheduled time, which made things feel rushed and ultimately caused us to be late for our courthouse wedding appt. I did appreciate that she offered a discount to make up for the delay. For the makeup, I had shared inspiration pics in advance (I have used the same ones with other artists before). While the final look wasn’t exactly what I had envisioned, it still came out decent. She did offer to make adjustments and we were able to make a few, but we were really pressed for time at that point so not much could be done. Edit: I wanted to clarify that on the day of the appt, she called at 7:19 AM (appt was 7:40 AM) to let me know she would be late as she had to turn back home to get something. I understand that traffic can be a factor, but also wanted share the full context of my experience.

I truly appreciate you trusting me with your courthouse wedding makeup and I’m glad you felt I was responsive and communicative leading up to the appointment. I’m very sorry again for the delay that morning. I left my home at 6:30 a.m. for our 7:40 a.m. appointment, but there was significant traffic that caused me to arrive later than planned. I understand how stressful that can feel on such an important day. I did reach out to let you know I was on my way and running behind due to traffic, and I also offered a discount as a sincere apology for the inconvenience. Regarding the makeup, I appreciate you sharing inspiration photos in advance and your input during the session. Throughout the appointment I checked in and asked for your thoughts so we could adjust as we went, and we were able to complete the look within about 45–50 minutes. As I mentioned beforehand, I could create a look inspired by your photos, but not an exact replica, and we made a few tweaks together before you had to leave for your ceremony. Your feedback is important to me, and I’ll continue to use it to improve my timing and processes for future clients. I wish you both all the best in your marriage and truly thank you again for booking with me.
