Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: My experience is fairly broad after almost 40 years in music! from performance to composition to audio production and even lyric writing...I try to pass along practical ways to become the artist or guitarist that you wish to become.I work with each student based on who they are. I am interested in challenging you and exciting you, not forcing you into an approach or learning style that doesn't work for you. I enjoy the creative aspect of communicating and working with people around music. I love having the opportunity to connect with a variety of people from all walks of life, and learning more about the music they love, as I help them grow as musicians.

Matthew is THE BEST! A wonderful teacher in the best sense of the word: he listens, he's patient, he's focused, and goes with his students when + where they are capable of going! Not too many people can play beautifully + teach well! (He's been my teacher for 3 years).

As a student of jazz guitar.Matthew was able to help me breakthrough musical barriers with his superior teaching methods. He will ask you what you want to learn, and set up a program that is tailored to your level.I have studied with many teachers but none more able to communicate musically as Matthew

Basically, I called him, told him what was bugging me (for the past 6 years) about my playing and he showed my how to fix it the first lesson. He has made music theory make sense to me and has a lot of awesome ideas on how to make practicing enjoyable. A+++++

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

My standard Rate is $50 per hour, but I do have a sliding fee scale, especially for people on disability or fixed incomes. Your first lesson is 1/2 price!

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I continue to be a working musician... this ongoing experience informs much of the practical advice I give students.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Learning about music can be challenging, and personal! pick someone who's teaching style sets you at ease and helps you learn comfortably. There is no reason diving into a new skill should make you suffer : )
