- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? Most handyman pricing is done by the job. For service calls, I receive $100 for the first hour and $60/hr after that.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? If it is for a power wash, contact me thru Thumbtack and provide me with your address and which services you require. Once I have that information, I can Google the address and check the listing on several different real estate sites (realtor.com, zillow.com, etc.). That usually gives me a good idea of the total square footage, how many stories, decks, obstacles etc. All this information will enable me to provide you with an accurate quote without needing to go to your home. I will then get back to you with a quote and scheduling options. On site quotes will be given if it is an extremely large job or something out of the ordinary. If you are requesting services for handyman work. Usually a good description and a few good pictures is the most that is needed to give you a reliable quote.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have always had my hands in the trades. For the past 30 years, I have worked for a couple different plumbers, a kitchen refacer, a sider/roofer, a remodeler. I performed military spec welding for 11 years for a local defense contractor. And for about 6 of those years, I maintained 83 rentals for a local landlord, so I believe I am very knowledgeable and capable in most areas of home maintenance and repairs. U. S. Army training, 6 years honorable discharge in 1996. welding certificate Liberty School of Welding, Massachusetts Real Estate License 1990-1993, 1 completed year of a Buisness Degree at Dean College Franklin.
