About
Begin your musical journey here! Whether you are looking to give the gift of music to yourself - or one of your beautiful children. I teach piano, organ and voice to all ages. Students begin at age 4 to 104 - many come and learn piano and voice as it is on their bucket list. We have several incredible recitals a year - with piano/organ/vocal duets, trios, ensembles and entire studio group numbers! We have performance classes monthly - costumes, introductions, students singing and playing with and for each other! I am also a quartet coach, drama coach, and children and adult choir director. Recently, one of my quartets won novice champions! Students go on to sing in equity productions and many are working as church musicians - as soloists and on key board. Excellence is our standard - if this is you - give me a call and let the music begin!

Our son started piano lessons with Robin at 5.5 years old. When choosing a teacher my main concern was finding a teacher who could provide a positive and encouraging method to motivate a young learner, not baby him, and not be so strict that he was scared or turned off from music. After 6 months of weekly practice, I have discovered that Robin not only met the goals, but has far exceeded them. The lessons are strict, which is necessary, with a little guy, but in a very positive light. Robin is joyful in her methods. You can tell she really enjoys teaching. And it shows with our sons new ability. He is already playing songs that include sharps, multiple hand movements, and songs with eighth notes, all while singing in pitch. (Added bonus). I was thinking he'd be at twinkle twinkle little star. Instead he is the little star. Our son has said, thank you for bringing me to piano lessons Daddy. I really like Mrs Robin as teacher. The best part of this process is the community Robin has built in her home and out. There is no better method for learning a musical instrument, than to perform. There are regular performances and twice a year recitals. This positive interaction with other students and families I don't think is very common with piano teachers. Even though I am not taking lessons, Robin has even given me some direct help in preparation for my own piano performances. I would recommend Robins Music Studio to anyone committed to learn. Thanks Thumbtack for helping me find a gem.

Robin has been such a blessing and is the most wonderful piano teacher I have worked with in the last 25 years! We met a year ago; I have played since the age of 5 and have had several instructors, all with different approaches to teaching. Most teachers focus on theory, then use exercise books to solidify workbook lessons. Robin focuses first on the working relationship, fostering trust and support, ensuring her students feel comfortable. Secondly, she values, emphasizes, and personally exudes having a passion and love of music that is contagious to all of her students. Students are encouraged to find and fall in love with all types of music and songs, and Robin searches to find sheet music you love, at your current level of ability. Her students all play classical, pop, and hymn pieces, and many of them have vocal lessons too. Moreover, I can't say enough about Robin as a teacher. She is a friend to every student and cares deeply about our whole wellbeing. I have health issues, and she has been loving and accommodating. She has also had extraordinary success with young students and students with different types of special needs. She is persistent, but undemanding, and meets each student at his or her own level. She regularly volunteers her time and resources to put together group experience practice sessions and annual recitals, so students can learn to play for others as well. Her students especially value these friendships and the comraderie that occurs during performances. I believe Robin sets the standard for music teachers everywhere, and words are insufficient to describe her spirit, her friendship, and her insight into teaching music. She is the teacher you want - for any age and any ability!

When I rate Robin Hudson as outstanding, I mean OUTSTANDING!! I used to do a lot of singing at an earlier age. Now, at age 78 I have been very frustrated with how I sound. Robin has encouraged me, helped me right some of the wrongs, helped me to laugh at myself and taught me such helpful vocal techniques. Her knowledge about the voice has helped me immeasurably. My friends are so proud of me for getting back into singing and most of all, I'm proud of myself. Robin Hudson is the name of the game. She has brought me to the stage where I have a more confidence in myself and can enjoy singing once again. One of the questions suggested is, How long did it take? I can't answer that because I feel we are never done. We just keep on learning. During my lessons with Robin I learn something new every time! Robin Hudson goes way beyond the typical time and preparation one would expect from a voice lesson. She works her magic every week!

I brought my son to Robin when he was 4. I was hoping that he could learn twinkle twinkle and a little bit about the piano. What we got was so much more. My son loves the piano and is so proud of his accomplishments. With Robin's teaching he got good fast and he can't wait to see what he can do next. Piano was only a small part of what he learns. He is learning to speak to an audience, accept applause, be a good audience, personal integrity, and so much more. I was so impressed with how easy she made learning the piano I started taking lessons at age 42. I am also proud of how far I have come. For the first time ever I feel like I am really learning what is being taught and I can finally see a time when I can play the way I always dreamed I could. This is something I share with my son and we inspire and encourage each other! If you really want to give your child or yourself the gift of music, I would recommend Robin to be your guide, teacher, and cheerleader.

I was given a gift certificate for voice lessons with Robin three years ago and i haven't left yet! It has been such fun learning and working with the entire studio and has rekindled my love of music. I know my abilities and techniques has improved. Robin's style is firm with a purpose. She wants all of her students to succeed and figures out what works best for each individual whether it is voice, piano or both. Her teaching goal is for her students to be well rounded. She gives a solid foundation to build on, tools that can be learned and applied not only to music but to life, and not to just skills to make music but to be able to perform for an audience.
