Ilgar works hard. He consistently does his best to accommodate requests. Shows up reliably and on time. Communicate what you want, confirm understanding while things are in process, and he will get it done. If you were to spend time and actually look at the reviews posted for Ilgar & Ali (hammer) before December 2020, you would find that all 8 of them were written either on the same day, or within a day there of. Independent of any other review, I will do my best here to make this review as independent and comprehensive as possible. I would characterize Ilgar as the embodiment of the American dream and work ethic. Came to this country two years ago, with a skillset he continues to refine. Promptly showed up a 8:30 or 9am every day, with his very hardworking assistant; Nazim. (Nazim is very modest, but perhaps he did the majority of the work?) The team Never missed a day, or a pre-set time (what a difference from other contractors!). When the project started to have over-runs, Ilgar would come early and stay late (till 7 or 8pm) and request the ability to work over the weekends. This translates to Ilgar working 10-12 hour days, seven days a week without break. This demanding schedule was self-imposed — simply so that he could maintain his promised timelines. English language skills are rough, but smiles are universal, hand gestures effective, and google translate can fill in gaps remaining. As other reviews referenced above, Ilgar is a person who works hard, is reliable, and aims to please. Our project was probably the largest project this team has ever undertaken. We engaged Ilgar [and Ali / Nazim] to work on our bathroom ‘stack’. The original plan was to work on our Attic Bathroom ONLY, however during the pre-planing stage, we agreed to increase scope 3x as all of the bathrooms on the stack were going to be disturbed. The job touched on all aspects of Bathroom work. Replace the ceiling in our existing first floor bathroom, renovate/Fix our 2nd floor bathroom, and repair/modernize our 3rd floor bathroom. These projects had to be done all at once, because it would not have been possible to work on the Attic bathroom, without breaking the wall apart to access things in the second floor bathroom, and once the second floor bathroom was opened up, updating the existing items required opening up the 1st floor bathroom ceiling. Overall, this was a large job. (Perhaps the largest that Ilgar had taken on todate). The photos of the partially finished job should speak for themselves… For me it is equally important that things are assembled on the inside correctly, as it is that they look good on the outside. As part of the contract with Ilgar, we specifically agreed that I would be given the ability to ‘look’ inside any wall before it was sealed up. When I requested changes, to how things were done structurally, electrically or plumbing-wise, Ilgar always accommodated. This was excersized a large number a number of times. If Ilgar was unfamiliar with applicable building standards before our job, he certainly knows them well now! The BAD (Which was all resolved). (1) Unfortunately, Ilgar’s team accidentally stepped through the ceiling in our living room and in one of our bedrooms. They took responsibility for the mistake in the living room, and eventually fixed the issue. The team had agreed (in writing) to paint our entire living room ceiling if the patch was visable after the ‘fix’. Somehow the team forgot that this was agreed to [in writing], but the team was able to match the paint sufficiently and nothing further was needed. (2) There was a little confusion around how a bathroom fan vents, anyone working with the team should double check this (3) Electrical work is not a core strength of this team. Overall, Ilgar works hard. Reasonable price. Reliable. Fixes mistakes that are identified. What else do you want? He is recommended.

Ilgar did a great job in our new 2 bedroom condo. We moved in and wanted to copletely redo the the master bathroom. He did a great job on our floor and wall mosaic tiles. Was punctual, clean and professional.
