FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The standard wedding ceremony fee is $600 which includes two pre-wedding meetings, attendance at rehearsal, the ceremony itself, and mailing marriage license in. This price does not include transportation or lodging costs if needed, or additional wedding meetings.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. The typical process of our work together is as follows: 1. A 15 minute consultation meeting over Zoom during which we can all ask questions and determine if I am the right fit for officiating your service. 2. We'll schedule two 60 minute zoom meetings in order for us to have time for conversation, sharing your story and hopes for your marriage, and crafting the right ceremony for you. (Between these two calls, I will be creating a google doc of your wedding ceremony which we can customize as much as you'd like in order to meet your needs.) 3. At the wedding rehearsal, I'll direct your wedding party, vendors, etc. through several practice rounds of your wedding ceremony so that all people feel comfortable with their roles and what they'll do during the ceremony. At this point, I will also receive the marriage license from you. 4. On the wedding day, we'll enjoy the beautiful ceremony that we've crafted together and celebrate your love story! I'll also ask you to sign the marriage license (along with your witnesses, in some states). I will then mail in/ file the license on your behalf. Payment for the wedding is collected on the day of the wedding.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ and have worked as a local church pastor in the Boston metro area, a Chaplain at healthcare facilities and a community minister (officiating weddings, funerals, and other life events in the community). I hold an MDiv degree and a DMin degree, meaning that I have graduate degree work in the field of theology and ministry.
