I have only had a handful of lessons with, Angel, but he has already improved my bowing and fingering, my attention to pitch, and he is introducing me to 3rd position, something I wasn’t even aware of after three years of following the Suzuki method.Dec 27, 2019Verified

I started studying the violin two years ago. I asked the violist of a chamber music ensemble that I know well if he knew a violin teacher in Newton. I am a teacher myself, and I recognize great teaching such as Angel’s. He makes no more than 3 or 4 suggestions in our half-hour lesson. Often his suggestion improves my playing instantaneously. That number also is plenty for a beginner’s focus during a week of practicing. The positive reinforcement I get from him helps me to worry less about my success in the moment and enjoy my progress more. Angel seems to teach with the same expertise, dedication and enthusiasm that permeate the other areas of his musical life—his roles of soloist, concert master, and string department leader. I feel very fortunate to have him as my teacher!Oct 3, 2019

Angel is an accomplished musician, but more importantly a wonderful violin teacher. He has been teaching my daughter for the past five years. He works well with young children, using methods that appeal to their age. He also works with the parents to ensure the parents understand where the child needs help or focus. In addition to the lessons, Angel provides a venue for his students to perform in a recital several times a year. This element is very important for young musicians, as it provides goals for the student to achieve by the recital as well as builds the students performance confidence by playing in front of an audience. I would highly recommend Angel.Mar 26, 2015

Angel was such a pleasure to work with! Hiring him was one of the easiest things we did for the wedding because he was professional, easy to communicate with and experienced. He gave us a list of songs, but was also open to our requests. The day of, everything went without a hitch, so I didn't have to worry about a thing! Angel and his partner arrived promptly for our wedding ceremony, and all of our guests were very impressed by their performance. I highly recommend Angel for any of your wedding needs and I would hire him again in a heartbeat.Jul 27, 2016VerifiedViolinist for a Private Lesson or Wedding's reply

I am very lucky to have Angel as my teacher. Not only he is a great violinist but he is very experienced in making you get a deep understanding of this amazing instrument and how it should be treated and played. He is critical and positive at the same time. He always communicates my weaknesses to me in the best possible way and gives me great practices to fix them. Because of his positive attitude and encouragement, every day I have become more passionate in learning the Violin.Dec 5, 2015
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I have done my very best to offer a fair price. If anyone feels differently, please do not hesitate to ask!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I get to know the student personally and ease him/her into the joy of music making!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I am an active performer with two or three concerts a week and travel regularly. I also have many students and am a juror at music competitions. Being in constant contact with my colleagues and current/past students helps me stay on the bleeding edge of the classical music business.
