Travis was incredibly helpful in both troubleshooting and solving my electrical problem. The issue was not cut and dry and Travis was patient and thoughtful in coming up with an efficient path forward. He took the time to listen to what was already tried by previous contractors and didn't mind (or didn't show that he minded) having me stare over his shoulder so I could learn a thing or two. His contractor experience would have been incredibly helpful in the event that more robust work needed to happen, but luckily he was able to figure it out! Would definitely recommend again! Very impressed.

Travis has done a few electrical projects for us now, including: 1) hot tub panel installation and wiring; 2) outdoor outlet installation; 3) house ground wiring evaluation and repairs; 4) electric subpanel reconfiguration
Travis has been honest and resourceful throughout all of these projects. One thing that differentiates him is that his construction knowledge is far greater than just electric.

Travis was professional and courteous when completing the electrical job that I requested. He offered a few different solutions to the various projects he was working on. I would recommend giving Travis and Abbott Contractors a call.

Having worked with many contractors, I can state unequivocally that Travis is one of the most talented people out there. His electrical work is incredibly neat. Also, his breadth of knowledge on building and remodeling is unrivaled. I hired him for rough electrical work, installation of recess lighting, and to help me with a large remodeling project. The quality was A+. Lastly, his pricing is very fair.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a better portion of my life in practical hands-on work experience working under highly skilled craftsmen and electricians. These in combination with the educational requirements for electrical licensure, extra electrical courses in fire alarm and low voltage, test preparation courses for CSL licensing that includes everything from insulation/energy efficiency to deck beam construction.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Growing up with a general contractor as my father, I excelled in the trade through the summers growing up, at home year round in the workshop, and eventually full time work doing everything from siding and windows to custom tile showers. My constant hunger for knowledge and skills eventually brought me to working in the electrical field doing everything from wiring whole houses, remodels, and troubleshooting. Eventually having obtained the time, experience, and education for licensing, it made sense to combine these efforts.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Ask questions! There's a lot you can tell about knowledge and experience just by asking questions. The other thing is seeing photos of completed work. As a contractor, I ask a lot of questions when looking at work because I want to make sure we're on the same page so not only is the price accurate, but you're happy and there's no communication breakdown.
