FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I do not have a complicated pricing system. Usually with brick and block, I charge per brick (labor, materials and allowance for certain percentage of extra material are included in this price) and then in the case of tile, stone, and marble, I charge per SF. Add sales tax and that is it. No complicated pricing system.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes. Education through the International Masonry Institute which provides classroom and shop hours to keep you current on the latest product and methodologies to be used in the masonry and tile fields. Also, through the various Project Management schools to stay current (there is a certain amount of required hours before you can get certified or re-certified through the PMI).
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My father is a retired mason. I learned from him the art of masonry and I added to that with Project Management experience and certifications as well as Lean Six Sigma certification.
