About
I wrap a student's strengths and weaknesses around the subject matter that they are trying to improve upon. Once a student sees that he or she can make progress, it carries over to the classroom. I have been teaching for forty years and it has never lost its magic! Come and experience learning and growth in an enjoyable atmosphere. References are available upon request. I enjoy working with students of all ages. I'm able to break down problems in all subjects so that the student can understand the learning path- and then break it down independently.

I'm happy to recommend Karen Heller Stone. Diagnosed with a learning disability in first grade, my daughter is challenged by communication difficulties in the areas of reading and writing. Karen tutored my daughter throughout junior high and high school on a one-on-one basis. She provided guidance on numerous school assignment and projects. Karen also taught and reinforced strategies and techniques with lifelong value. She provided feedback on her student progress, maintains a flexible schedule and her fees were competitive.

Ms. Stone tutored my son for 3 years in reading. I appreciated how she took the time to break things down to his level. His fluency and his comprehension improved. She is enthusiastic and passionate about helping kids learn and educating parents on their learning styles.
