FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
well the price of the job depends on what needs to be done. the tools we use cost a lot.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
well I/we locksmiths spend a lot of time reading trade ref books and spend time walking thru "junk yards" to look for new models so I can learn how to open that car so I don't damage anything on your car when I fix yours.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
When I was like 15 years old the lady next door was a friend of my moms and she locked herself out of her house she called the fire dept. they came over and ended up breaking the door to open it, cost her some good money to replace it. So a few months later she did it again this time she asked me to help so I looked around and found a window she left open but it had a screen so I got a screw driver and a small ladder and took the window apart then put my little brother thru the window he opened the front door and I put the window back together then the lady offered me 10 dollars I said no thanks I didn't do it for the money but she made me take it and that was my first paying job in this line of work. I used the 5 dollars to buy a locksmithing book (my mother made me give my brother 5 dollars).
